Q1. Why are you nominating this person? What contribution(s) and achievement(s) qualify the nominee for this award? Was their contribution(s)/achievement(s) for their organization, business, or client?
We are on a transformation journey with one of the leading Consumer Goods firm which is setting the industry benchmark in Operational performance across its value chain. This covers Plan, Source, Make, Deliver and our programs are driving improved turnover, cost and cash. Alex has shown tremendous growth over the past three years and has been a critical leader in helping to establish the vision, account strategy, engage with key stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams to deliver this. This has included having to navigate and build relationships across the globe in functions including Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Procurement and Global Business Services. This complexity on a global scale cannot be underestimated and Alex has increased her sphere of influence and impact accordingly, building fresh relationships and driving growth in the upstream and downstream elements of the value chain. This would only be possible if she drove increased collaboration within Genpact and as our relationship has blossomed, it has been because Alex was able to marshal the Genpact ecosystem to do so.
Q2. What metrics, if any, coincide with this nomination (e.g., financial, business growth, or client satisfaction impact)?
Alex has secured key deals to enable us to treble the annual revenue in the past three years and secured +$200M in bookings over the same period. She has also been a key figure in managing a stakeholder map that covers over +350 client executives.
Q3. Please describe their influence. Is it internal via leadership roles, chairing groups, etc. or external via social media, speaking engagements, thought leadership, etc.?
Leading critical and large deals in Genpact. This has included chairing all governance in the deal cycle and leading key client workshops and presentations. A large part of Alex's influence is also of an informal nature. Given our matrix organization, Alex has to rely on her influencing and persuading skills and therefore it is her ability to build deep relationships and connect with individuals that has been so valuable, a trait increasingly precious during and post COVID as we work remotely.
Q4. What personal qualities have they demonstrated that would qualify them for this nomination (e.g., promotes collaboration, great communicator, supports other women, leads by example)?
Alex promotes incredibly inclusive collaboration both in groups and in one-on-one relationships. Success in the account across the extensive stakeholder map would only have been possible with this. She is also a very effective and personable communicator which inspires internal and client teams and she is incredibly skilled in handling client objections and concerns. In this way one of her greatest qualities is empathy and curiosity and with an incredibly sophisticated and savvy buyer, this has been very important to our growth and Alex's impact. Furthermore, she will seek to support growth and raise visibility of all team members and in particular, women in the team and ensure inclusivity is at the core of how we operate as a team and a company. This includes, highlighting their efforts at team meetings and encouraging contributions, connecting one-to-one to offer advice and writing notes of thanks to leadership.
Q5. Is there any other information you would like us to consider?
Team player - she identifies where team members need support and steps in to help. The question as to whether it is her job is irrelevant to Alex; it is about the team and what do we need to achieve to delight the client and deliver impact.
Nomination Summary
This award is for the Rising Star and Alex continues to excel year after year, leaning in to each challenge and growing not as the role demands, but rather to establish what the role should be given the increasing complexity and impact of the client engagement. She sets the standard for the role, not the other way round and her humility demands that she not perceive it that way which ensures her thirst for knowledge and curiosity remains.
