Karin Schönwetter is all about leading with humanity and empathy in an increasingly complex world. She is passionate about developing talented people in an inclusive and complex environment by leading by example, optimizing organizational structures and simplify processes. Karin has actively taken diversity and women in leadership positions on her agenda and organizes events and workshops to support her dream of equal chances for everyone. As an executive manager she is leading by example and inspires her employees being a role model for the values she stands for.

Karin had various leadership roles within more than 24 years of IBM. The stations of her career speak for themselves:

  • Management, Operation, Marketing, Sales Support in various functions  Karin is also leading DACH Women’s Leadership Council at IBM since 2020 and is engaged in various events like „Girls Day“ introducing IT to young highschool girls, regular exchange with universities, virtual events, podcasts, etc.

Karin Schönwetter is a strong advocate for topics like personal development, mental health, self-help and self-improvement. Her open communication combined with her empathy leads to leadership at its best since she values her opponent no matter of background, gender etc.  She promotes diversity by living up to her values every day.

Despite the various time-consuming business-related topics, Karin is actively fighting for her personal work-life balance, saving time for her family, being a caring wife and mother, having fun with her family and especially the family dog Emma which takes them outdoors no matter what.
